I should probably already know this...

Jango introduced me to PSound, which is all kinds of helpful.  However, is there anything like that for ripping images?  I know, I have no experience whatsoever in the ripping department, and I'm trying to learn all I can while creating my first character.  Whatever tool will work for ripping images/models/etc. from the disc is what I need.

Depends. What are you trying to rip from?

Which game, you mean?

Edit: I wasn't clear enough.  I want to rip from PS2 games.

The closest thing you might have to that is GGD. I've never used it, but it's really only useful for ripping stages since I belive it is a tile viewer of sorts (been a while so I can't remember exactly). Some games are just unrippable, period.

As for characters, I know many use some sort of plugin for PCSX2 to glitch the background along with ArtMoney to freeze the vels and pos values (and switch to sprite or in most cases, animation values) to make ripping for character sprites easier.

Yeah, Artmoney is probably the best way to rip from an emu. The downside is that unless you know someone who ripped sprites from the game like that, you have to make the table yourself. However, IIRC, the Artmoney walkthrough TDS made on Guild should work in most cases, so that will probably help out.

I couldn't understand how to go about finding a ton of those values, especially sprite/animation values. Hell I can't even scroll through character sprites in Capcom games other than CvS2. System sprites are a bitch in nearly all cases except NeoGeo.

Of course you can of course always do it the loser-way and just lock the character in mid-air and then manually do what needs to be done. Unfortunately you can't properly record gethits or jumping stuff this way (with proper alignment anyway).
