Sprites in the background generally don't look too good.

Yeah, that castle's colors don't fit in with the rest too well. Maybe if you made them darker, it would fit in better.


Just try to keep things peaceful.

Do You Think Greyscale Would Work?

No, grey scale doesn't make it darker. Open the background in Photoshop and then press ctrl + U. A window will open where you can adjust the brightness and hue of the castle.
