cvs andy by Jesuszilla help plz

everytime when i select him my mugen crashes and exit
it crash before the fight start
its the only char in my roster is doin that what could be the problem
i redownded it make sure it was downloaded completly turn out that wasnt the case

the error message say
error parsing trigger6,1
error parsing (state -2,10
error in (statedef -2)
error in cvsandy.cns
character is not designed to run on this version of mugen
error loading cvsandy.def
error while precaching

Wait, did you ever modify anything in any of the files?

opponent could be anyone it would crash
i know it is wierd cause it worked the first time
i didnt moditfy the char except by turning off the groove point in config. thats it

i went redownload a winmugen n just install the char it crash too

Just that one file huh? Strange. I don't know why it would crash... However, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it had to do with the authorname triggers for H" since he uses a weird " for his authorname. Although if you only modified the config.txt, then that shouldn't be broken as it's in the CNS.

I also just downloaded him myself and had no problems; I also modified the config like you did.

That last line may give me a clue as to what's going on though... Error in precaching... This may or may not work, but open mugen.cfg in the data folder. Look something like this:

the funny thing is i have gotten it to workthe first time when i download him

Hmm... Try setting playercache = 70, BufferedRead = 0, and UnloadSystem = 0. Let's see what that does...

how about this i download a new winmugen and install ur char if it doesnt work i will send it to you see if yours work hope is not computer problem

I knew it... Dammit H". The thing is, H" has a Japanese keyboard character in his authorname. If the .cns file is saved in any encoding other than Japanese, it's probably gonna mess up.




Are you SURE you haven't modified the CNS in any way? Have you used any sort of auto-patcher for like a stage or screenpack or something?



Either way, go to that line in the CNS (ctrl+f) and replace it with this (copy & paste) then save and see if that works:
trigger6 = enemy,authorname = "H"" && enemy,fvar(39) = 1
