Nintendo bricking unmodded Nintendo Wiis.

Wii Firmware 4.2 has bricked several UNMODDED Nintendo Wiis as there seems to be a high probability of the download crashing during installation causing the Wii to go batshit insane.

Nintendo is offering free repair but if you have a Wii it would probably in your best interest to hold off on this update.

Nintendo's probably more concerned with recouping lost revenue due to modding by making it harder, than testing.

Just a bit of an update from Joystiq, this update modifies the fucking bootloader itself, which why if anything goes wrong the shit really hits the fan.

They also recommend staying the fuck away from Update 4.2.
