Probably also why they canned Tony Hawk but that was likely also due to the absolute shitfests that were Ride and Shred.

They specified licensing problems with music making the games no longer profitable as to why they canned the franchise yesterday. Seems reasonable as I remember a statement from one of the record labels awhile back saying they should get more money.

The Tony Hawks were probably canned for the reason you said though.

Anybody wanna bet how long would it take before Activision axes the COD franchise as well? (They fired two key IW fellows after all, so that doesn't seem totally unlikely).

The only way I see one of the 3 current COD developers being axed is if a game comes out as bad as COD3 was, which seems likely as only 2 of the 3 current COD development teams has released one. The one being Treyarch and the other 2 being a rebuilt Infinity Ward an some other one who will be making "downloadable" based COD titles, whatever that means.

I'm still furious over Bizarre Creations getting canned.
