Well since they obviously aren't taking their free time to compose good music they felt they had to use it somewhere.

It blatantly samples Earthbound, Chrono Trigger and another SNES RPG I forget where Gamzee's dancing animation was edited from.[/spoiler]

also yeah I can hear the Chrono Trigger sound (the overworld music from that era where you find Frog), and the formspring says the song is from Secret of Mana

And the voice sound effect you hear throughout is from Earthbound when you're setting the games name settings at the start of the game. It is also in Mother 3 when you name characters.

Made more nonsensical when you realize they basically have a guy in the back ground asking "Is this ok?" over and over.

Although Hussie tends to be an ass and exaggerate things on his Formspring on purpose so there's always that.
