Hussie's been treating the characters like disposable silverware, there is no part of this development that is surprising.

I think this a good attitude for authors; you shouldn't grow so attached to your creations that you can't kill them off when the story calls for it.

Then again I came to this point of view via Yoshiyuki Tomino and Joss Whedon, and I know that not everyone likes the way they so carelessly off their characters.

Yes but doing it wholesale in such a relatively short time undermines the effect those deaths could have.

Hell just look at the most recent update that happened just right now,
