Well this is meant to be largely inspired by the Genesis games, so some sort of knock off of it seems probable.

It's kind of traditional at this point.

Also I'd feel ripped off if the game really just has 4 zones and ends with TO BE CONTINUED.

Given it's episodic each episode but the last probably will end like that, but with some sort of cliffhanger to make people want to play the next one.

Like in Tales of Monkey Island at the end of the first episode Guybrush gets ambushed by some woman and you don't even get to see her face, and it just ends like that.

I'm really not sold on the idea of an episodic platformer, it just seems like too much of an abrupt break in the games flow.

I think this game would have a lot more potential if you had access to a zone editor. I could picture that happening.

What the fuck do emerging technologies have to do with it! You could create interesting worlds on the GENESIS. You were able to release that particular series across about 4 different goddamn consoles over the last few years. Including PC thank you very much.
