Metal Gear Solid 4 Spoiler Thread

I have no intention of playing MGS4, but after the last three I figured I might as well see where this train wreck was headed. This thread contains spoilers, if you read them and don't want to, well then you're a dumbass. I had to rant on how stupid a few of them.




























Now spoilers, in super white vision. This aren't in any particular order.

The main one, the Patriots. The Patriots are/were in fact the following, Major Zero, Ocelot, Big Boss, Para-medic, Sigint and EVA. Yes, the MGS3 team. Apparently Major Zero decided one day for shits and giggles to take over the world with a bunch of people he worked with in the past. Big Boss left the Patriots after he was cloned it made him angry so he did the whole Zanzibar Land crap. Also EVA was the surrogate mother for the three Snakes. Zero is still alive but very old and in a wheel chair hooked up to life support. The Patriots are presently controlled by AI.

Speaking of Big Boss, he's back. Apparently being set on fire isn't enough to kill you. Big Boss kills Zero, and subsequently dies, you know that whole FOXDIE thing.

Sigint is dead. Zero apparently decided it would be good to have a member of the Patriots in DARPA. Yes, Sigint was the DARPA chief from MGS.

Para-Medic is dead, she was actually named Dr. Clark and killed by Gray Fox after turning him into a robot ninja. WHY THAT SOUNDS LIKE A HORROR MOVIE, IRONY ANYONE?!

Ocelot sets EVA on fire.

Vamp was immortal due to nano-machines. Snake and Raiden disable those however and then he gets stabbed and falls off of Metal Gear REX.

Naomi had the same type of nano-machines, but turns them off and dies of cancer.

Meryl marries Johnny.

Snake DOESN'T die. Nor does he follow in his families footsteps and take a Metal Gear and cause a rebellion, which is how I thought it'd end.

Finally, the one in my opinion good plot twist: Ocelot has been fucking with you sense MGS2, he was never being controlled by Liquid to begin with. He did undergo hypnosis however to gain Liquid's personality. This was to fuck with the Patriots, he and EVA having been manipulating things for years to destroy the Patriots. Ocelot dies from a mutated version of FOXDIE.

Main reason I looked these up was Snake Eater was a floor fad last year (the whole game; largely due to TMF sucking at it), and I thought these plot twists were kind of silly. I mean seriously the world's most powerful organization was being controlled by a bunch of guys involved in a classified assassination mission? Seriously this seems like the plot was hacked together at the last minute. Why bother brining back Big Boss if you intend to kill him in the very same scene?

If THAT'S not contrived enough for you, the Beauty and Beast unit were all hypnotized by Psycho Mantis's spirit. The Screaming Mantis battle is even a harder version of the Psycho Mantis one, if you try to change your control ports apparently he calls you out on it.


There's a lot of missing things, those were the ones I noticed though.

Yeah I read all that as I was installing the game as well. IMO I shouldn't even have to install the game. I bought the bundle. It should have been pre-installed for me. That would make SENSE. It's the MGS4 bundle

Interesting how the series came out to be about The Boss and her legacy, instead of Snake.

When it comes down to it, there could've been a few deleted scenes.

Yeah, he's actually badass this time around.  I was kinda disappointed Snake didn't even get to use a sword.
