Those DLC character polls may well have pointless as Capcom isn't actually planning any right now outside Jill and Shuma-Gorath (who we now know were actually on the disc).

Looking at that article, I really don't see why Niitsuma would leave out Batsu just because he "is too similar to Ryu". (okay, he IS niitsuma, but still)

I mean, if you want to get technical, a LOT of the characters in this game could be considered shotos. Aside from the obvious Morrigan and Akuma, there's V. Joe, Chun-Li, Spider-Man, Zero, Captain America, and probably a few others. Really, I'd say Batsu is different enough from Ryu to warrant a spot on the roster.

There's a glitch you can do as Zero where the opponents fighters won't load and thus you can force a win by time out. Hoping that gets patched.
