Apparently, Earthbound and Fire Emblem were supposed to be Masterpieces titles in Brawl. This infuriates me that it did not happen.

They are masterpieces in brawl... just the Japanese version....

Nah, I'm sure they were, but the english version they took them out  because they were too lazy to translate Fire Emblem, and the other... well, america hates Earthbound, I guess?

Yeah they were in the Japanese version.

Fire Emblem doesn't even make sense here there was never an english version.

Earthbound was likely removed cause NOA hates it remember?

Well they translated Sin & Punishment for the N64 for the Virtual Console here in America and they used Brawl to sort of advertise that with the inclusion of that one striker who is a trap. No reason they can't translate FE for Virtual Console other than maybe they don't want to hurt the sales of the DS remake here in the US by making it available for $25 cheaper on the Virtual Console.

As for Earthbound, maybe it's one of two things: It's Mother for the NES, or they haven't considered Mother 2/Earthbound for Virtual Console yet, at least in the U.S.
